Kyle Bottom’s Comedy Bucket
Special guest host Katie-Ellen Humphries
with guests Kevin Banner, Dino Archie, Graham Clark,
Stefan MacNeil and Erica Sigurdson!
March 20, 2015

The sold-out March show was beard-free as Katie Ellen Humphries filled in as host for Kyle while he’s in Toronto. Comedy Bucket is the only show in town where comedians are guaranteed to talk about what’s on your mind. Everyone who attends this show will receive a slip of paper, on which they can write anything… anonymously. You don’t sign it, no one looks at it. Straight into the bucket it goes and what comes out is comedy gold… hopefully. A talented crew of jokers will attempt to perform comedic alchemy, right before your very eyes. Whatever you’re thinking about, whatever crosses your mind. Write it down and see what happens. The best comics. The best laughs. Monthly at Hot Art Wet City.

Creatures of Habit
New Works from Mandy Tsung and Russell Alton
July 9-25, 2015

In “Creatures of Habit,” Mandy Tsung and Russell Alton play with the combination of their established themes, threading two worlds, finding contrast & complement amid works that highlight an individuality while relating a common identity. See photos from the show on Flickr >

Mandy Tsung’s paintings are meant to be emotive; to communicate the depths of human experience through gestures and expressions. She was born in Banff, AB, but spent her formative years in Calgary. After completing a BFA in Sculpture at The Alberta College of Art and Design in 2007, she then moved to Vancouver where she now paints full-time. She has exhibited in numerous galleries in North America, Germany, and Australia.

Russell Alton builds an imaginative universe filled with friendship, joy & magic and has it leak into & hopefully influence our own. Hailing from Smithers, BC he now scribbles, paints & prints butts in Vancouver. He has exhibited in BC & the US and his work is collected worldwide.

It’s Not Me You See
May 7-30, 2015

It’s Not Me You See is a group show that explores glitched or obscured identity. In a time of constant surveillance, the ability to disappear completely while remaining in plain view is a pipe dream. Erika Altosaar, Holton Brock, Randy Grskovic, Roselina Hung, Margot Klingender, Ed Spence, Andrew Pommier and Marc Williams approach the fantasy of anonymity in drawing, painting, and collage. Curated by Alex MF Quicho.
